Born Joseph in March, 1889, as the youngest of four boys from Jbeil, Lebanon. He spent his life working in the monastery gardens where he lived and was distinguished by his silence during his reflections on Christ, tolerance with his pain never complaining of his ailments, and fasting. He was known for his honesty and righteousness, spreading Christ’s message to whomever he came across, and reflecting Jesus’s image through his love and respect for others.
